After a few years' hiatus, I'm proud to return as a contributor to Alverno College's Alverno Magazine. For the Spring/Summer 2023 issue, I had the pleasure of interviewing and writing about Debra Patrick, an outstanding alumna who overcame negative childhood educational experiences with grace and determination to graduate with an EdD in December 2022.

Informative panel discussion this morning hosted by .media.charlotte with Charlotte Mecklenburg Library communication specialist Asha Ellison who talked about how we use social media to tell the Library's story. These are huge growth platforms for us that help us reach current customers and new audiences by creating unique and relevant content. We've recorded growth up by 50% in our audiences in just ten months!

On November 7, 2019 my team hosted a press conference to announce the designs of the new Main Library. As news conferences go, it was a great event with wonderful talking points/ sound bites from our speakers - our Charlotte Mecklenburg Library CEO, Mecklenburg County Manager, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Foundation, the Knight Foundation and our architects. There was also solid representation from our local media. The highlight and star definitely is the new Main Library. Here's a look:

The Charlotte Mecklenburg Library has just unveiled plans for a massive new $100 million, 115,000 SqFt, 6-story main branch in Uptown Charlotte. Attended the Queen City PRSA awards luncheon today where my team won in the Shoestring Budget category for our 2018 I Can Get Carded initiative. We signed up more than 8,220 cardholders one month. So proud of the great work and happy to be recognized for it!
