Just sharing a little glimpse of Japan 🇯🇵

I had such a wonderful time being back home this summer.

This trip reminded me how special it is to have people you want to see, who want to see you too, and to simply be able to spend time together.

The long journey and jet lag make me feel like I age a year every time 😂 But even if all that traveling takes a little time off my life, I think it’s still worth it.

Now, if only Doraemon’s “Anywhere Door” were real… 😁🚪✨

会いたいと思う人がいたり、会いたいと思ってくれる人がいたり、一緒に時間を過ごせるって幸せなことだなーと、改めて思った今回の帰国。

長距離移動と時差などで、毎回1歳は歳をとる……と思うけれど😂、たとえ寿命が縮んだとしても、それでも構わないな、と。

早くどこでもドアできないかなー😁🚪✨

Visited Nagiso, Nagano, for the first time in 10 years.

An old friend of mine runs a couple of beautiful guesthouses here. One of them is a more than 200-year-old house that has been lovingly renovated, preserving its history while creating a peaceful and welcoming space.

He upcycles and reuses old materials in thoughtful ways—for example, turning old drawers into beautiful wall shelves.

I just wanted to share not only the beauty of Japanese nature, but also the thoughtful creativity and craftsmanship of people who live in harmony with it ✨

10年ぶりに長野県の南木曽へ。

旧友の営む2つのゲストハウスを訪ねました。

彼自身の手でリノベーションされた、築200年以上の古民家。古材を活かし、引き出しを棚へと生まれ変わらせるなど、そこかしこに資源を大切にするアイデアと美しいセンスが散りばめられていました。

この土地の豊かな自然の中で暮らしているからこそ、感性はより澄まされ、自然に寄り添うものづくりへとつながっていくのだろうな、と感じます。

村上春樹が好きだった彼のゲストハウスには、やはりたくさんの村上春樹の本が並んでいました。

この旅を決める少し前にふと手に取って読み返していたのも村上春樹の本でした。そんな小さな偶然も、不思議と意味があるような気がしてしまいます。

There's something about summer evenings this time of year that I just can't get enough of.

Here in our neighborhood, a simple evening walk can turn into a moment like this. Seeing fireflies never gets old, and I hope this little bit of magic reaches someone who doesn't get to see them where they live. 😊✨

この街では、近所を散歩しているだけでこんなホタルの景色に出会えたりするから、ホタルなんて見られない場所に住んでいる人にも届いたらいいな、なんて思うのです😊✨

A compostable sponge is one small step 🌱

Questions I get a lot:

• How long does it last?
→ About 1–2 months with regular use ✨

• How do I clean it?
→ Just pop it in the dishwasher, rinse with hot water or soak with vinegar + water.

• How do I compost it?
→ Cut it into smaller pieces and add it to your compost 🫶
