Are you ready for our next thought leadership series? This month, we're talking about AI and how associations are using tools to improve their events.

Kiersten shares how events produced by her client, the Virginia Thoroughbred Association, can be much more involved than a typical conference—usually revolving around races and other outdoor events with a lot of (literally!) moving pieces.

The VTA uses AI to manage entries, track event logistics and communicate schedules during a hectic day of meetings and racing. Ultimately, the goal is to ensure everyone from horse owners to exhibitors to attendees have a seamless day at the racetrack, and AI tools help her do that.

It takes skill, focus and a whole lot of practice to be named the best mixer truck driver in Virginia!

On Saturday, August 8, members of the Virginia Ready Mixed Concrete Association (VRMCA) put those skills to the test at the annual Mixer Truck Roadeo at The Meadow Event Park in Doswell. Drivers competed in three challenges: a written exam, a pre-trip inspection led by a Virginia State Trooper and a driving obstacle course.

But the Roadeo is about more than competition. It’s a fun day dedicated to celebrating safe driving, with family and friends cheering on their favorite drivers. Between the bounce house, games of co****le, a buffet lunch and Titan America’s driving simulator, there was plenty for everyone to enjoy!

Congratulations to all of this year’s competitors for putting their skills and safety knowledge to the test. And a special shoutout to our winners, who took home cash prizes and a trip to VRMCA’s Fall Convention in Virginia Beach!
