2012 APT UVA Case Competition

Event Details:

The competition will challenge undergraduate teams to use creativity, analytics, and presentation skills to craft a position on the business problem presented in the materials. The case will be interactive, with a variety of materials and resources to utilize as you progress through the case. The case will be co-sponsored by APT and the UVA International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE).

The case is geared towards students in their third year or below, and no prior experience is required. Case competitions are excellent ways to gain confidence in handling business problems, and to gain exposure to the day to day experience of a consultant. · Case Released: Monday, April 2nd, 7:00 p.m.
· Case Solution Due via Email: Tuesday, April 3rd, 11:59 p.m.
· Live Presentations to APT Consultants: Wednesday, April 4th
· Reception and Winner’s Announced: Wednesday, April 4th, 8 p.m.
Guidelines and Details:

· Team Size: All teams must be comprised of 4 or 5 individuals
· Eligibility: All first, second, and third year undergraduates are welcome to participate, regardless of major and experience
· Prizes: 1st and 2nd place teams will receive cash prizes

Congratulations to the 2012 Navigant McIntire Case Competition Winners, CGM Officers and Executives, and Thank you to our faculty judges!

Congratulations to the 2012 Navigant McIntire Case Competition winning team, comprised of 3rd year Commerce, M.S. in Commerce, and Engineering students:

Students presented solutions for a financial services firm that had acquired a sub-prime lender, just prior to the financial collapse of 2007, analyzing exposure, and considering possible liquidation and bankruptcy of the troubled sub-prime business.
