Make sure you stomp‼️

Every stomp counts! Adult spotted lanternflies are actively preparing to lay their egg masses. Stomping just one adult lanternfly now prevents up to 50 new pests from hatching next spring.

Have you ever wondered how ants can carry such heavy objects, yet be so little?

🐜 They have strong exoskeletons!
🐜 Their necks are incredibly strong (able to absorb force 5,000 times it's weight!)
🐜 The Square-Cube Law of physics states that as creatures grow larger, the more of their muscle is used to hold their own body up. Because ants weigh so little, they can use more of their muscles proportionally to lift objects much heavier than themselves.

Happy first day of Fall! 🍂

Pest World's Bug Barometer is in with it's predictions for pests in Virginia this season. Pest World says, "Hot summer-like temperatures lasting into fall could keep ticks and ants active later than usual. If warm and dry conditions persist into fall, pressure from cooler-season pests like rodents, Asian lady beetles and boxelder bugs may be delayed."

Don't forget to continue daily tick checks if you live or work in wooded areas. Looking for a local, eco-friendly pest control company to keep the pests out? Schedule a site visit: www.monticellopest.com
