🏛️ WEEKLY PROJECT UPDATE | WI******ER CITY HALL

This week, we’re checking back in at Wi******er City Hall, where progress continues on a project that requires a little more patience, precision, and planning than your typical renovation.

Working with a historic building means there’s no rushing the process. Every phase has to be approached carefully, with specific requirements for what can be altered, how work is performed, and how the existing structure is protected along the way. With an anticipated construction timeline of approximately two years, this one is all about slow, steady, and intentional progress.

Over the past six weeks, crews have continued demolition throughout the site, including removal of the vestibule and exterior brick, abatement work at the vestibule, demolition of the sidewalk and south-side ramp, and removal of the remaining concrete along the northwest side. Crews have also been cutting out unsuitable soil and completing exterior rough grading and compaction to prepare for the work ahead.

Right now, a lot of the progress at Wi******er City Hall is about what’s being carefully removed and what’s happening beneath the surface. Each of these steps is laying the groundwork for the transformation to come while respecting the history of the building we’re working with.

There’s still a long road ahead on this one, but we’re excited to watch it take shape one carefully completed phase at a time. 🏗️🏛️

✂️🎉 A Big Milestone for the McNabb Center!

Today we had the privilege of attending the ribbon cutting for the new McNabb Center, celebrating an exciting milestone for a project that represents so much more than a new building.

We heard from several of the people behind the mission and vision for this facility, including McNabb leadership, the regional coordinator, and Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp, before everyone gathered together for the official ribbon cutting. The ribbon may have put up a little fight at first 😂, but they got it done!

We were especially proud to see our own Jason Potts and Michael Thomas standing alongside McNabb leadership, community leaders, and many of the people who have played a part in bringing this project from an idea on paper to the facility you see today.

As the general contractor, we’ve had the opportunity to watch this building take shape from the ground up. While there are still a few finishing touches ahead, today was a chance to celebrate how far this project has come and, more importantly, what it will soon mean for the people it was built to serve.

Congratulations to McNabb and everyone who helped bring this vision to life. We’re grateful Robert Roberts LLC had the opportunity to be part of it, and we’re looking forward to seeing the impact this facility will have on our community for years to come. 💙

There’s just something extra cool about seeing another company share one of our projects and be just as excited about it as we are. 🙌

California Skateparks has been doing some incredible work bringing the ramps, bowls, and skate features at the Chattanooga Skate Park to life, and seeing their perspective on just how massive this park is makes us even more excited for what’s ahead.

A whole lot of work from a whole lot of talented people is coming together out here, and we’re proud to be part of the team making it happen.

We have a feeling they’re right… Chattanooga is going to have endless fun with this one. 🛹🔥

Hamilton County Juvenile Court 🏗️✨

This project brought together new construction and extensive renovations to create a safer, more accessible, and more functional space for the court, its staff, and the families it serves.

The project included a 2,083-square-foot addition providing a new secured entrance, along with approximately 2,331 square feet of renovations throughout the existing facility. Inside, our team transformed the main entrance and lobby, added new conference rooms and DHS offices, created a new security area and waiting spaces, added ADA-compliant restrooms, and renovated the main corridor leading from the lobby.

The transformation continued outside with improvements to the building’s front façade and Hamilton County Juvenile Court identification, along with a new stand-alone brick and stone monument sign that gives the property a completely refreshed presence.

One of the most important parts of this project happened behind the scenes: all of this work had to be carefully coordinated around an active court facility. Through thoughtful phasing and coordination, the Juvenile Court was able to remain open and operational throughout construction.

From the addition and interior renovations to the finishing details outside, it’s incredibly rewarding to see the entire project come together. We’re proud of the work our team and trade partners put into this project and grateful for the opportunity to play a part in improving a facility that serves Hamilton County every day.
