KBK Office Services is looking to connect with CPA firms that believe great financial support starts with a strong accounting foundation.

For business owners and nonprofit leaders, KBK serves as your Virtual Accounting Office, providing ongoing accounting support, financial reporting, and Accounting Health Assessments designed to help you understand and trust your numbers.

I'm looking to build relationships with CPA firms across the country that may need a trusted accounting partner for clients who need ongoing bookkeeping and accounting support.

Your clients remain your clients. My goal is to become the accounting support behind the scenes—helping keep their financial records accurate, organized, and ready for your tax and advisory work.

I'm especially interested in connecting with CPA professionals who have nonprofit expertise and value collaboration, communication, and genuinely caring for the clients we serve.

If you know a business, nonprofit, or CPA professional who could benefit from a trusted Virtual Accounting Office, I'd love an introduction!

**Healthy businesses start with healthy accounting.**

Your financial statements are more than reports—they're the story of your business. They can reveal where you're growing, where you're struggling, and where opportunities may be hiding.

The challenge is that many business owners receive financial reports each month without knowing what the numbers are really saying.

At KBK Office Services, we help service-based businesses and nonprofit organizations turn financial data into meaningful insights. When you understand your numbers, you can make confident decisions that support long-term success.

If you're ready to better understand your business through your numbers, let's connect.

**📌 Bookkeeping Mistake #1: Mixing Personal and Business Expenses**

It's one of the most common bookkeeping mistakes I see—and it can create problems long after the purchase is made.

Using your business account for personal expenses (or your personal account for business purchases) can:
❌ Make it difficult to understand your true business profitability
❌ Create unnecessary work at tax time
❌ Increase bookkeeping cleanup costs
❌ Lead to inaccurate financial reports

The solution is simple:
✔ Use a dedicated business bank account.
✔ Use a separate business credit card.
✔ Record owner contributions and owner draws correctly instead of mixing transactions.

Accurate bookkeeping isn't just about keeping records—it's about giving you financial information you can trust when making business decisions.

If you're not sure whether your books are as accurate as they should be, it may be time for a bookkeeping review. Sometimes a few small corrections can make a big difference in the quality of your financial reports.

🐾 **Pet Business Owners: Don't Toss Those Financial Records Just Yet!** 🗂️

If you're cleaning up your office or going paperless, make sure you don't throw away important financial documents too soon.

Here are some general record retention guidelines:

📄 Tax returns & supporting documents: **Keep for at least 7 years**
🏦 Bank & credit card statements: **Keep for at least 7 years**
🧾 Business receipts & expense records: **Keep for at least 7 years**
💼 Payroll records: **Keep for 3–7 years** (depending on the record)
📑 Business licenses, insurance policies, and legal documents: **Keep for as long as they're active, plus several years after they expire**

Good recordkeeping can save you time, reduce stress during tax season, and help if you ever need to verify income or expenses.

💡 Pro Tip: Scan your documents and store them securely in the cloud so they're easy to find when you need them.

How do you keep your business records organized—paper files, digital folders, or accounting software? Let me know in the comments! 🐶🐱

*These are general guidelines and may vary depending on your business and applicable laws. If you're unsure what to keep, consult your accountant or tax professional.*
