We are a family owned local auction started in 2010 by Nate and Krista Bartlow here in Chehalis, WA in southwest Lewis County. We auction all types of poultry, small pets and miscellaneous farm related items every Saturday, unless closed for Holiday’s, Mother Nature, or family emergencies. We keep our Face Book PAGE updated with EVENTS for Friday and Saturday, our only days the office is open for business.
Because it is an auction, we never know what we will be selling until it is brought in for consignment. We auction poultry and miscellaneous, and do not sell hooven animals such as pigs, sheep, goats and calves.
See POST dated 5/8/20 on our PAGE that supersedes ALL Information posted ANYWHERE on our PAGE for LIMITED OPENING during COVID-19. Drop off’s, type animals, hours and social distancing limited space for buyers. NO CHILDREN, FAMILIES or UNNECESSARY ATTENDANCE.
We generally have eggs, chickens, ducks, rabbits, pigeons, quail, guinea fowl, peafowl, geese and turkey’s. We sometimes have pheasants, doves, chukars, guinea pigs, hamsters, parakeets, canaries, love birds, cockatiels, turtles, rats, mice and snakes. For the miscellaneous farm related items, we generally have cages, gardening items, fishing/hunting/camping items, tools, posts, fencing and some antiques and vintage items. We post pictures of what is dropped off on Friday to our Face Book PAGE.
SELLERS: We have Friday drop off hours from 11a - 3p, and Saturday 8a - 9a for miscellaneous, 8a - 11a for poultry and eggs. We have State issued cages we place your animals in. Chicks and ducklings small enough to need heat should be brought in boxes by quantity of 10 or more, with appropriate room and ventilation and on Saturday, not Friday.
Our commission is 28%, except non farm/household items are 35%. You will fill out consignment paperwork listing what you have brought in, the last 4 digits on that paper is put on your items and animals, you are given the PINK sheet that is your responsibility to bring back to claim your funds after the sale. We suggest putting that slip in your wallet. You may receive your funds the day of the auction, or the next Friday during hours 11a - 3p, or Saturday 8a - 3p. IF your total after commission is under $10, you must come to get your funds or choose to donate to Lewis County Animal Shelter. It is not cost effective to send out checks when what was sold does not cover our costs. Checks are mailed 9 days after the auction , unless you have asked us to HOLD until you return, and IF you have provided a good, legible mailing address. We can use Pay Pal if you provide a valid Email address. Unfortunately, history has shown that USPS can take 4-6 weeks for delivery of mail. We are not responsible once envelopes are placed in the mail.
BUYERS: Come to the office and obtain a bidder number the day of the auction. It is good for that day only, and by signing for said privilege, you are agreeing to pay for items you are the winning bidder of before leaving auction property. We offer 3 types of payment: cash, check or credit (with surcharge of only 4%). Once you have paid for your items, you will be given 2 part slips for items, and a Staff member will assist to check you out. Patrons are not allowed to get their own items without the help of auction staff. If planning on purchasing animals, or not, please bring cages for your new family members to safely make it home.
