Some before/after pics of Stand 19 on the forest. The forested pics show a stand of pine timber that has been thinned two times and is treated periodically with prescribed fire. The daylighted areas were cleared in 2024 and planted with native grasses and forbs in early 2025.

On the weekend of October 31 & November 1, we will be hosting our 15th annual youth hunt with Texas Parks and Wildlife. Recently we hosted over 60 SFA Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture students at the forest. The students learned about our prescribed burn program, shortleaf pine, silviculture, and wildlife habitat management. Each year, we are fortunate to host and educate students from Stephen F. Austin State University.
