Some evenings leave you inspired. Others leave you thinking differently…….

It was one of those evenings a Philadelphia Youth Basketball.

I had the opportunity to attend a fireside chat featuring Stan Middleman, Founder, President and CEO of Freedom Mortgage, and Richard Green, Executive Chairman and Owner of Firstrust Bank and minority owner of the Philadelphia Eagles.

What struck me most was not simply the scale of their success, but the perspective behind it.

Freedom Mortgage has grown into one of the largest mortgage lenders in the United States. Every entrepreneur and leader can appreciate vision, resilience, calculated risk-taking, adaptability, and the ability to anticipate change before it arrives.

Stan’s recently released book, Seeing Around Corners: Achieving Success in Business and Life, explores the mindset required to recognize opportunities others may miss and to position yourself for long-term success. It immediately earned a place on my reading list.

For me, one of the greatest benefits of entrepreneurship is the opportunity to learn from those who have built, scaled, invested, and navigated challenges at the highest levels.

Every conversation contains a lesson if we are willing to listen.

The reminder I took away from the evening — Success rarely happens by accident. It is often the result of seeing possibilities before they become obvious, making courageous decisions, and staying committed to a vision long after others stop paying attention.

I’m looking forward to reading Seeing Around Corners and learning more from the journey behind this successful business leader.
