We are no longer processing, but a brokerage house. We drop trailers at our supplier's docks, and when full, swap out an empty, take the full to our facility. We then sort by plastic type and either shred, grind or bale the material. It is then sold to customers who are either compounders (remelt and value add back to the plastic to strengthen properties), or end-users (who make a new product out of the plastic).

Plastic Scrap

The manufacture and distribution of plastics are seen everywhere. The explosive growth of this industry has alarmed many around the world about the state of recycling systems and a growing global movement to ensure that plastics are handled in an environmentally responsible manner. From 2005 to 2015, annual world plastics production reached 322 million metric tons from 230 million. ISRI estimates that the U.S. recycles more than 3.5 million tons of plastic every year. Every ton of plastics that are recycled can save enough energy to power nearly two households for an entire year!

Whew...what a storm, eh? In my area of NC we have missed the worst of it. I know trucking companies have had a lot to deal with and we are grateful for their services and hope they can get untangled quickly.
