The Neptune Festival didn’t quite go according to plan this year…

After months of designing, building, wiring, programming, and preparing our booth for the festival, the event was canceled due to weather.

We weren’t about to let all of that work go unseen, so we set the entire display back up at our shop, fired everything up, and spent the evening with our team and families enjoying what we had built.

The goal with this booth was to create something that felt less like a trade-show display and more like stepping into two finished environments — one focused on outdoor living, and one focused on the interior of the home.

Throughout the space, we showcased lighting, automation, audio, video, outdoor entertainment, networking, security, and control — all designed to work together as one cohesive experience.

We’re incredibly proud of how it came together.

A huge thank you to the incredible manufacturers and partners whose products helped bring this display to life, including Savant Home, DMF Lighting, Coastal Source, and Origin Acoustics.

And a very special thank you to Neptune Outdoor TVs for their unbelievable support of our company and this project. Their support went far beyond simply providing a product for our display, and we’re incredibly grateful to have them in our corner.

We’re growing.

Neptune AV Solutions is looking to add a part-time team member, with the potential for the position to develop into full-time work.

We’re looking for someone who is dependable, hardworking, mechanically inclined, and genuinely interested in learning. Previous experience in the AV or low-voltage industry is not required, although being comfortable with basic hand tools and hands-on work is a plus.

Our projects cover a wide range of technology, including smart home automation, audio and video systems, home theaters, networking and Wi-Fi, security cameras, access control, lighting and shading control, commercial AV, and more.

This is an opportunity to learn both the technical and hands-on sides of a growing industry. We’re willing to train the right candidate, provide real-world experience, and help them work toward industry certifications as they develop their skills.

Neptune Design Notes // Ver. 001

Lighting isn’t about fixtures. It’s about control.

One of the biggest misconceptions in architectural lighting is that recessed fixtures are simply placed in a ceiling to provide illumination.

In reality, every decision—from beam angle and fixture placement to color temperature and aiming—changes how a space is experienced.

For this barn, the architecture dictated the lighting design.

The steeply pitched ceilings called for DMF Lighting’s adjustable modules, allowing us to direct light exactly where it was needed instead of simply pointing it toward the floor.

Above the horse stalls, where the mounting height increases dramatically, we selected a narrow beam optic. By controlling the beam spread rather than simply adding more fixtures, we were able to deliver the same quality of illumination you’d expect from a much lower ceiling.

And throughout the project, 2700K was intentionally chosen to complement the natural timber, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere while allowing the craftsmanship of the barn to take center stage.

The best lighting design isn’t about making a space brighter.

It’s about making every design decision intentional.

The best lighting is rarely noticed.

It simply allows the architecture to speak for itself.
