Designated a State Sponsor of Terrorism by the U.S. in 1984, Iran provides support to a host of terrorist groups including Hezbollah, militant groups in Gaza, and militias in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and elsewhere in the Middle East. Iran is also believed to have provided support to the militia responsible for the recent killings of three U.S. soldiers in Jordan (and the injuries of many more).
