This past weekend, we lost our colleague and friend, Jessica Cavanaugh.

Jessica was a deeply valued and loved member of the AVMAC family. She brought a genuine sense of joy to our team and to everyone around her. Whether through her dedication to her work or the way she connected with others, Jessica left a lasting impact that will not be forgotten.

She was not only a coworker, but also a daughter, a mother, and a friend to so many. Her presence meant so much to all of us, and she will be profoundly missed.
Our thoughts and condolences are with her family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

Last week, the AVMAC team stepped away from the office and onto the track at LeMans Karting for a team-building event filled with friendly competition and great camaraderie.

From racing on the track to participating in the Zero Latency VR experience, it was a great opportunity for the team to connect, recharge, and enjoy time together outside of the workplace.

At AVMAC, we take pride in building a strong team both in and out of the office, and this was a great example of that. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

O&A Technical Services, a joint venture between AVMAC and Orion, has been awarded a Task Order by the Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD). This significant contract builds on our successful bid and highlights the strength and collaborative spirit of our joint venture.

The purpose of this Task Order is to provide engineering and technical services for the installation of MACHALT 744 (SCD 20419) – VCHT Controller Replacement on various DDG-51 Class hulls, a critical upgrade for the Navy. O&A TS will perform all aspects of planning, management, logistics, technical support, fabrication, installation, and testing of these alteration components.

Work under this Task Order will be performed on 24 ships across multiple key naval bases, including Everett, WA; Norfolk, VA; San Diego, CA; Mayport, FL; and Pearl Harbor, HI.

In addition to this Task Order, O&A Technical Services is currently performing logistics, maintenance and material support for the DOT MARAD Ready Reserve Force (RRF) program and engineering and installation work on hull, mechanical, and electrical (HM&E) systems for NSWCPD.

AVMAC is proud to recognize Juan Wallace for his outstanding performance during a recent Aviation Logistics Maintenance Assessment Team (ALMAT) Inspection supporting the squadron’s HAZMAT program.

During the Inspection, Juan demonstrated exceptional leadership and technical expertise in the management, coordination, and ex*****on of the squadron’s HAZMAT program. His meticulous oversight earned him high praise from the inspection team, a Bravo Zulu, and personal recognition from the Commanding officer who presented Juan with a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (NAM).

Juan’s continued excellence, demonstrated not only in this inspection but also in two prior assessments, reflects great credit upon himself and highlights his unwavering dedication to mission readiness and operational excellence.

AVMAC’s Director of Business Development, Ken Knowlton, recently attended the 2026 Defense Technology & Aerospace Procurement Conference in Austin, TX, a key hub for military and defense technology innovation.

The event provided valuable insights into product and service requirements across sectors, including IT, AI, quantum technologies, cybersecurity, next-generation aircraft, and C6ISR.

Ken had the opportunity to connect with industry partners and gained firsthand knowledge from speakers and panelists on current purchasing priorities for Army, Air Force, and Space Force commands, along with federal contracting mechanisms ranging from GWACs to OTAs. The conference also highlighted new opportunities for small and mid-size businesses to team and subcontract with prime contractors.

AVMAC is proud to recognize Craig Waddy for his outstanding performance during a recent Marine Aviation Logistics squadron (MALS) inspection supporting Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 323.

During the inspection Hot Wash, Craig was specifically acknowledged by the Aircraft Maintenance Officer for his exceptional management of the tool room. The inspection team recognized it as one of the cleanest and most organized tool rooms on the flight line, earning high praise for his attention to detail.
