Is your product cleared to operate on DoD networks?

With the sunset of the DoDIN APL, DISA Vendor STIGs are now the mandatory compliance standard for commercial IT products deployed in DoD environments.

At Tachyon Dynamics, we've been here for years helping vendors navigate the STIG authoring process from gap analysis all the way to publication on cyber.mil. Our 7-step consulting process has already put 3 published STIGs into DoD operators' hands.

Don't wait until a program office asks for your STIG and you don't have one.

Hot take: IPv6 isn't the problem. Commitment is.

This month, an IETF Internet-Draft for something called "IPv8" started making the rounds proposing a 64-bit protocol to replace IPv6 because, apparently, we needed a simpler address space. The community's verdict? One engineer called it "every networking buzzword bingo square stapled together with a straight face." Another noted it appears to have been written by someone who's simply afraid of hex.

Meanwhile, OMB M-21-07 mandated 80% IPv6-only federal networks by September 2025. No agency crossed that line publicly. Not one.

The answer to "IPv6 is hard" was never "invent IPv8." It's getting tested, certified, and deploying the infrastructure we already have.

At Tachyon Dynamics, we're an ISO 17025-accredited USGv6 testing lab. We help product vendors achieve USGv6 certification through rigorous gap analysis and compliance testing. No reinvented wheels, no buzzword drafts, just proven IPv6 readiness.

The future of federal networking is IPv6-only. Let's actually get there.
