𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗮 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆! 🏠 This week, U.S. Senator 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 held a press conference in Wilmington, Delaware, celebrating enactment of the bipartisan 𝟮𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝘆 𝗥𝗢𝗔𝗗 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝘁, landmark legislation aimed at lowering housing costs, streamlining regulations and increasing housing supply.

𝗕𝗲𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀, a member of 𝗢𝗠𝗚’𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 (𝗟𝗦𝗚), was on hand for the event, joining policymakers, local leaders and housing officials as they discussed the legislation and its implementation.

It’s a great example of what effective government affairs work looks like: 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲.

🏛️ #𝗙𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗙𝗥𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗢𝗖𝗔𝗖𝗬 𝗜𝗡 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡: This week, Ben Jones, a member of Organization Management Group - OMG’s Legislative Strategies Group (LSG) division, was in Kansas City, Missouri, serving as a panelist at Ranking Member Emanuel Cleaver II’s 21st Century Road Ahead Housing Summit.

The summit brought together housing leaders and stakeholders to discuss the nationwide housing shortage, preserving housing supply and the important role industry professionals can play as partners in developing effective solutions.

We’re taking a look back at last week’s Virginia Society of Association Executives 2026 AMC Summit in Newport News, where association management professionals and industry partners came together to discuss the issues shaping the future of the AMC industry. Sessions explored leadership, AI governance, workforce trends, firm growth, client service, and the evolving role of association management companies.

We’re especially proud of Organization Management Group - OMG Vice President Nicole McAllister, CAE, who, alongside co-chair Daniel Whitehead, helped plan and lead this year’s program. Her leadership and commitment helped create a meaningful opportunity for learning, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas among AMC professionals.

Thank you speakers Rob Campbell, Dorothy Deng, Thomas Pigg, Anna Kosova, and Carolyn Lagermasini, CAE for sharing their expertise and insights. 🇺🇸 It’s not every day you have the opportunity to learn from someone who literally stood watch over one of America’s most sacred symbols of honor and remembrance.

Organization Management Group was honored to support the Virginia Funeral Directors Association’s 138th Annual Conference this month at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, where attendees heard from SSG (Ret.) Joseph L. “Joe” Hull, LCSW, a combat veteran, former Sentinel at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, author, educator, and nationally recognized speaker.

During his powerful presentation, “Honor Beyond the Steps: A Tomb Guard’s Perspective,” Joe shared the history, traditions, and significance of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, along with firsthand insights from his service in the elite Tomb Guard Platoon at Arlington National Cemetery. Attendees learned about the rigorous training required to earn the prestigious Tomb Guard Identification Badge and the discipline, sacrifice, and commitment expected of those entrusted with guarding the Tomb.

Joe holds a remarkable distinction: he completed exactly 2,000 ceremonial walks at the Tomb, the most ever recorded by a Sentinel. He also served with the historic 101st Airborne Division and deployed twice to Afghanistan before transitioning into the mental health field and becoming an author and educator.

Following his presentation, conference attendees had the rare opportunity to view ceremonial and historical artifacts from his Tomb Guard service and engage in discussion about the enduring legacy of the Unknown Soldiers.

At OMG, one of the greatest privileges of serving associations is the opportunity to connect members with extraordinary speakers and subject matter experts whose experiences inspire, educate, and leave a lasting impact. Joe Hull’s presentation was truly unforgettable.

🪶📖 What a delight to step back in time with Edgar Allan Poe! At the Virginia Cemetery Association Annual Meeting in Virginia Beach on June 6, attendees were treated to a captivating performance by actor Tim Beasley, who brought the legendary writer to life with storytelling, wit, and dramatic flair. 🎭✨

Experiences like these are a wonderful reminder that association meetings are about more than business. They’re opportunities to learn, connect, and discover new perspectives. It’s a to congratulate Organization Management Group - OMG Vice President of Legal & Risk Management Blake Hegeman, CAE, on his appointment as the new Professional Development Committee Chair for the Virginia Society of Association Executives (VSAE).

Blake joined OMG in 2023. He is graduate of Virginia Tech and the University of Richmond School of Law with over 15 years of experience practicing real estate, corporate, regulatory and nonprofit association law, and is a sought-after instructor, speaker and writer. In 2022, he was elected to the Virginia State Bar's Corporate Counsel Section Board of Governors.
