I am a death doula and a registered nurse. I generate conversations about death and dying that actually have the clients and their families can be fully expressed with their wishes, desires, and concerns. I facilitate funeral arrangements and assist with paperwork around POA and HCA. (Power of Attorney and Healthcare Agent) Create and design legacy projects
using various media as a self-expression and remembrance for generations to come. I talk openly and candidly and honestly about death and dying such that people have power and peace with that process. I sit at the bedside to care for the person in transition. Coordinate care with hospice teams and medical professionals. I create and hold a space where love and loss can coexist. How Quietus House Came To Be:
I was really struck at a core level, during the pandemic and how people were unable to be with their loved ones. Because I am a nurse, I was able to gain access to nursing homes and be with people when they hadn't been with the family for months. I knew then I wanted to do something about people dying alone. or people dying without having the opportunity to be at peace. I was speaking to a friend about it and she mentioned the term death doula and it was like a pure knowing or sense that that was where I needed to go. Behind the scenes I am --

Learning about different cultures and their practices
My business means that people have a choice around the way they get to celebrate their life. I get to be a contribution to humanity in a big way. Maybe even shift the context around death and dying in the world. My business is my heart and it's out there on display.
