Wow. Huge props to Dean and Laurel Bennett 🥺💗 What an incredible gesture, and what an example they are setting for us all.

Years ago, I had the privilege of being at a talk given by Wayne Dyer...and I wrote down something powerful that he shared: WHEN YOUR CUP IS FULL, STOP POURING...
Wise words now personified by Coach Bennett and his family. Not only are they declining a raise so there is more money for the entire department (not just his team), they’re also committing $500K of their own money to expand career services for players...They have enough, and so have passed on ‘more.’..
These are the moments - and humans -that remind us of the presence of grace.....

Relying on job boards for 100% of your job search makes for some tough {and often frustrating} going.

Cue Darth Vader voice: “Step away from the computer, Luke”...🤣😂🤓

Make online job boards ONE tactic you’re employing in your strategic search along with a few others that make sense for you, your industry, and your community. In addition to networking (which continues to be a powerful tool), other tactics include researching companies, establishing credibility online, attending trainings/workshops, strategic volunteering, creating ‘outbound’ campaigns to tap the hidden job market, partnering with recruiters, following up/managing your applications and interviews, thinking outside the box, and more! Create a plan - and then work the plan.

Jobseekers are sometimes surprised when I ask them what they’re reading re: career/job search. Here are 5 reasons why I encourage my clients to READ for success...(1) Insights into trends that can beautifully and powerfully inform interviews and cover letters; (2) Learning about new products and tools for your industry; (3) Discovering thought leaders and those who are pushing boundaries in a particular sector; (4) Uncovering potential opportunities (aka the hidden job market); and (5) Curating information, articles, and recommendations to share with your network (because 21st century networking is at least as much about giving as it is asking)...

PS: is on MY list...and I’m usually forwarding relevant articles to clients, colleagues, and friends as soon as I turn each issue’s final page!!
