Loaded fire sprinklers may be cleaned, but should be done with extreme care, as they are fragile. The standard allows loaded sprinklers to be cleaned by means of vacuum and / or compressed air provided that the sprinkler is not touched. Please have a professional take care of this for you, to assure the proper handling of the fire and life safety equipment, and to prevent a premature discharge that could cause lots of water damage before isolated. Cleaning solutions and chemicals of any kind are prohibited while cleaning fire sprinklers. I hope you find this post helpful.
