Yesterday afternoon we had a great turnout for our August chapter meeting, featuring guest speaker Dr. Zachary Singer ! He gave a fascinating presentation about Ice Age Diets in Maryland, and we can't wait to see more results from this research!

If you have found any Paleoindian projectile points in Maryland, Dr. Singer wants to hear from you! Your point could be included in the Maryland Fluted Point Survey, or even analyzed for ancient megafauna proteins!

This Wednesday, August 5th!

This is the follow up to our program last November! Dr. Zac Singer will present all the results of the 75 paleo points and tools sent for the blood protein analysis to Archaeological Investigations Northwest, Inc. in Portland, Oregon.

We also invite you to bring any fluted points you might have found so they can be included in the Maryland Fluted Point Survey. Don't miss this cool event!

The Society for American Archaeology - State Archaeology Celebration Poster Contest, a nation-wide effort to promote archaeology to the public, coincides with Maryland Archeology Month. Last year, Maryland came in 2nd place in the poster contest for the second year in a row!

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Come on down to Crownsville on Saturday for the 2026 Annual Spring Symposium! There will be lots of great speakers, an opportunity to participate in the Silent Auction, and a really cool group of people. 😎

This past Sunday, Eastern Shore chapter members were treated to an incredible lecture by archaeologist Dan Griffith, of the The Archaeological Society of Delaware (ASD) on 17th century American Indian Towns. We had a great turnout and look forward to seeing all our members at future events!
