**Outage Update**

With the goal of transparency, here's what is going on out in the field:

The damaged area is approximately 10 feet underground, which is making this repair more complex and time-consuming than a typical fiber repair.

Crews are currently digging to fully expose and assess the damage. Once that work is complete, the next step will be to drill in a new conduit and install new handholes.

After the new pathway is in place, our fiber crews will pull new fiber through the conduit. The final step will be to splice the new fiber back into the network and restore service.

The contractors, MDBC, and Talkie Communications are all working together as one team to repair the network as quickly and safely as possible.

Our goal is today, with an ETA of 4-6hrs as of now.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while this work continues. We will provide another update as progress is made.

Because of Comcast construction crews cutting a major part of the Talkie's fiber optic backbone, homes across Queen Anne's County are experiencing an outage. **OUTAGE UPDATE** **MAJOR FIBER BACKBONE HIT**

We are currently experiencing a fiber service interruption affecting customers across Queen Anne’s County. Our technical teams have been dispatched and are actively investigating the root cause to restore connectivity as quickly and safely as possible.

We do not have an estimated restoration time just yet, but we will provide an update right here as soon as more details become available. As always, our goal is to get this resolved ASAP.
