October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month. 💙🩷

In our community, the white pumpkin can be a quiet symbol of remembrance. A simple way to honor babies who were deeply loved and longed for. 🤍

This month, we pause to acknowledge every family touched by loss, and the many forms that grief can take.

🤍We remember the babies who should be here.
🤍We remember the plans, the milestones, the appointments, the waiting.
🤍We remember the love that existed from the very first moment.

And we hold space for the unique tenderness of loss in surrogacy, when more than one heart is grieving the same baby.

Their lives mattered. Their memories matter. 🦋🤍

If it feels right, light a candle, say their name, or place a white pumpkin by your door as a sign of love and remembrance.

The biggest myth about gestational surrogacy is that you share DNA with the baby.

In gestational surrogacy, the embryo comes from the intended parents or donors.

So yes, you as the surrogate carry the pregnancy.
But no, you do not share genetics with the baby.

Diane founded Creative Family Connections in 2001, on one simple belief: "Everyone can build a family."

As a single mom who adopted internationally AND as a Harvard Law graduate, Diane knows firsthand that family looks different for everyone. She's championed LGBTQ+ parents, single parents, and every non-traditional family path.
