Our furry friends can teach us a lot about life, and managing our social media pages are no exception. Surprised? Read below to find out how you can apply some lessons from your pup to this work week.
🐾 Do (post) things that make you happy
A dog doesn’t play fetch for others, or dig holes to appease the squirrels who are watching from a nearby tree. A good rule of thumb is the following: if you find your content boring, others will as well. Creating content that interests you will attract a better audience, allow you to produce better posts and will reduce the risk of burnout.
🐾 Greet everyone with excitement and enthusiasm
New customer leaving a review? Someone asking questions about your products? Make sure you greet all your customers with kindness and energy. Be grateful to those who leave reviews, be present for your consumers and make sure all feel welcome on your page.
🐾 Spend time outside
Sitting in front of your screen all day is not the best way to draw inspiration, no matter how many Pinterest posts you scroll through. Spend time outdoors to clear your mind. Our best posts come from conversations we had that sparked an idea, or something in the wild (aka away from our screens) that inspired a new idea.
🐾 Be loyal
Reward your loyal customers. There are a plethora of different ways to do this, but you could have loyalty cards, discounts for frequent shoppers, or giveaways for people who have placed orders. Be good to your customers - they’re the reason you can do what you love!
🐾 Learn from your mistakes and move on quickly
Social media is trial and error. It is all about finding out what works on your page, what you consumers like and what your groove is for posting. If something doesn’t perform well, don’t sweat it. Use it as a base for knowing what type of content doesn’t resonate with your audience.
