There are many wearable pumps on the market, and while the concept is great, just a few words of caution! Wearables are not always the best option for establishing supply in the early days. Sometimes fl**ge sizing is more challenging as well, due to the need for silicone inserts over the recommended hard fl**ges in the appropriate size. Some people have trouble getting the right fit and/or the right supportive bra. If you are someone with a well established supply and are ready to head back to work, these could be a wonderful option. Do some comparing and contrasting with your regular pump, and if all seems well, it could be in the mix for some ease and convenience!

Fl**ge sizing is so important, and the newest research is fairly new, so not all the pump companies have caught up! Guidance states to use diameter of ni**le tip for most precise sizing. Only the ni**le should move in the tunnel, you should see sprays, and it should be comfortable. Hard plastic fl**ges often work better than silicone inserts. And, fl**ges now come in a variety of shapes as well!

Side-lying is one of my absolute favorite nursing positions to teach! The surface supports you both, eliminating any awkward holds or pillows. It reduces stress/anxiety as well. Tuck that little bottom arm under the breast (like a hug), line up ni**le to nose (chin into breast, head slightly tipped back) & many babies just latch, but you can guide a bit if needed...
