Despite external evidence of their competence, those experiencing this phenomenon remain convinced that they are frauds and do not deserve all they have achieved. Individuals with impostor syndrome incorrectly attribute their success to luck, or interpret it as a result of deceiving others into thinking they are more intelligent than they perceive themselves to be."

As fellow HR professional, connecting on the personal level with Susana M. was easy. We had similar aches but also very similar motivators.

There is no better feeling than looking back to realize how much smaller our "comfort zone" used to be, how scary the "fear zone" felt, how hard and exciting the "learning zone" was, or the feeling of strength and possibility that came from reaching the "growth zone".

In some areas in life this happens almost organically, in others we need to get more proactive.

I bought this for my Goddaughter's birthday.

I felt a bit uneasy at first so I asked her mother (a very strong woman), who was super onboard.

When I gave it to her I told her that I hoped reading about these very cool women will inspire her.

She looked confused and then asked me if "all of those were real women". I know that when I had this realization I was way older than she is.

Learning that they exist helped me to see other like them all around and dream bigger.

I'm so happy we had this talk, and I'm looking forward to the ones I hope will come. I wish I'd had this book and these talks when I was younger.
