An offender has been arrested and charged following a month-long investigation into the theft of more than $1 million worth of property from a Gold Coast residence.
On the afternoon of July 18, 2026, 18th District officers responded to the 0-100 block of E. Scott St. and met with a 23-year-old victim who arrived home and discovered his residence had been burglarized. Jewelry, handbags, watches and other high-end items were stolen during the burglary. A safe containing additional belongings was also taken during the burglary.
Responding officers reviewed video evidence, which showed multiple offenders gaining entry to the property.
Area Three detectives began an extensive canvass for evidence and recovered additional video of the offenders and of the vehicles they were driving, which was crucial to the investigation. With this evidence, detectives were able to identify 45-year-old Quentin Jones as one of the burglary offenders. They also secured video evidence of Jones purchasing tools that are believed to have been used in the burglary. Detectives also learned the offenders were casing the property for weeks leading up to the crime.
Officers arrested Jones on August 19, 2026. He has since been charged with:
-One felony count of Theft/Unauthorized Control > $1M
-One felony count of Residential Burglary
