Touring the land for a new and mural project! My friend is not only kind, wise, and hilarious, but she’s a gardening wizard! 👩‍🌾🌿👩🏻‍🎤🌿👩‍🎨🌿🧙‍♀️ So we’re putting our skills together to spruce up gardens that she and her neighbors will enjoy for years! So exciting.

Good read alert! 👍📖😀Gabe Brown’s book Dirt To Soil is a great primer on regenerative agriculture. He explains how understanding and promoting healthy ecosystems ALSO produces more benefit for the growing human population than inefficient, destructive industrial agriculture. As he writes “Biological life is a force, and once it has been unleashed, it will continue to grow and generate new life.” Word! @ Bucktown, Chicago

Pollinators are our friends, and there are ways to welcome them: here is a small patch of mint in our backyard whose flowers make food for bees, butterflies, and other winged lovelies. Mint is easy to grow in most conditions, and also makes great tea and garnish for we humans!

Give it a chance, and a vegetable trimming can become a new plant: leave 1+ inch when you cut the top off a carrot, celery, or lettuce head, and place it in a container near gentle natural light, partly submerged in water (or soil). Keep it moist, and watch life do its thing! Soon, transplant to appropriate pot or plot outside in full sun.

A visit to the marvelous living art installation by Patrick Blanc during our trip to Miami. Two cuttings of papyrus (see the second photo) may have come home with me, along with two tropical philodendron and a small creeper vine, and have been sending off new roots and shoots in propagation vases on my windowsill! 🤫🌿👍💕 @ Pérez Art Museum Miami
