Morten Group is proud to be the convener of the Chicagoland activation of Seven Days in June: HEALTH IS PRIMARY.

June 1–7, 2026, organizations across our region will host town halls, forums, rallies, and community events, demanding that every 2026 candidate commit to protecting healthcare access, biomedical research, and public health. The cuts already passed by Congress will hit our communities hard. That window before the election is our opportunity.

On Friday, June 5 at sunset, join us for a candlelight vigil at the AIDS Garden to honor those we've lost and stand for those still fighting.

It's the end of Q2 - how are you closing out the first half of the year?

It's no secret that the work we and many of our client partners do can take a toll, and we often forget to take what the time we need to reflect on what's happened and plan for what comes next. Here are five grounding reminders as you catch your breath before diving into Q3:

✅ Start with reflection
Before planning what's next, ask: What have we learned? What surprised us? What deserves more attention? A moment of pause creates room for clarity.

✅ Check in on your people
Our teams are ecosystems made up of people, not machines. A quick pulse check or one-on-one conversation can go a long way toward connection and care.

✅ Realign with your mission
Halfway through the year is the perfect time to zoom out. Are your day-to-day decisions still moving your vision forward? Is your strategy meeting the moment?

✅ Name and celebrate progress
Don't wait for year-end to uplift what's working. Celebrate small wins now; they add up, and your team needs to hear them!

✅ Make space for rest and reset
Summer is a natural invitation to slow down. Encourage your team (and yourself) to log off, get deep rest, and return refreshed.

We had a great time learning all about our new cybersecurity practices, practicing our facilitation skills, and filming a TikTok dance... Coming to a screen near you soon!

We're on our way back home from the concluding graduation of the inaugural cohort of Quad Cities Community Foundation's Center for Nonprofit Excellence. (More photos to come!)

It was an honor to work with the foundation to bring four workshops to their grantees over the last six months and can't wait to see what these phenomenal organizations do next to support the Quad Cuties region!

Thanks to Daisy Moran, Juanita Passno, Kelly Thompson, and Sue Hafkemeyer for bringing this group together and for being amazing partners in this work.
