The year was 1939 when Aloysius Schmidt opened the doors of Atlas Stationers. Originally seeing an opportunity to offer supplies that would always be needed (black pens with a booming economy and red in bad times), Atlas Stationers has evolved into the largest independent Office Supply and Stationery Retailer in Chicago!

86 years after opening, Atlas is now run by Don, Therese, Brian, and Brendan

Schmidt. Our retail store in Downtown Chicago features a massive selection of fountain pens, notebooks, and stationery products. Relaunched in 2020, you can shop for thousands of fountain pens, notebooks, inks, and stationery products on the brand new atlasstationers.com. Atlas Stationers has been in the Schmidt family for over 85 years and we pledge to offer service that makes a world of difference. Thank you for over 85 years of support!
