A remarkable pairing of history and artistry, this 19th-century shield—possibly Crow or Comanche—and its Apache cover reflect both cultural tradition and intertribal exchange.

The shield is crafted of thick hide and painted with vivid imagery, while the cover is richly decorated with tipis, eagles, owls, and playful dogs, telling stories of life and spirit. Once part of an “Old Florida Family Collection,” this set has a storied provenance, later entering the collection of Mr. Richard Rogel.
