Celebrating Mom & Black Authors 📚✨
Wow! Today I had the pleasure of attending the Quad City Black Author Event at the Martin Luther King Center in Rock Island, Illinois! ❤️🖤💚
What a beautiful gathering filled with Food, Fun, Community, and an incredible variety of books—from children’s literature to self-help and everything in between!
I’m especially grateful to celebrate my mother, Lucille Ankum, author of You Are Going to Make It! 🙌🏾📖 She had the honor of sitting on the forum alongside so many beautiful, talented people who are using their voices and stories to inspire others.
Seeing my mother participate in this event was such a special moment for me. Her words, her journey, and her book are a testament to perseverance and the power of believing that you are going to make it!
A heartfelt THANK YOU to Shelly Guy for the invitation and for creating space for Black authors, storytellers, and our community to come together. ❤️
Today was more than an author event—it was a celebration of culture, creativity, knowledge, family, and legacy.

Spiritual Bath Ingredients
White sage
Fresh basil
Chamomile
1 apple, sliced
3 liters of water
3 star anise
5 cloves
Opening Sexual Release Prayer
Before entering the bath, place your hands over your heart and lower abdomen. Take three slow breaths and say:
Creator, Divine Source, Ancestors of Light,
I enter this sacred water with the intention of release.
I release every sexual experience, memory, attachment, desire, agreement, expectation, and connection that no longer serves my highest good.
I call my energy back to myself. I call my body back to myself. I call my mind, heart, spirit, and sacred essence back to myself.
What belongs to me remains with me. What does not belong to me is released with peace.
I release shame. I release guilt. I release unwanted memories. I release energetic attachments. I release the need to carry another person's presence within me.
My body is sacred. My sexuality is sacred. My consent is sacred. My boundaries are sacred.
May this water become a symbol of purification, restoration, and renewal.
I am cleansed.
I am released.
I am restored.
I return fully to myself.
And so it is.

✨ SPOTLIGHT: SOMETIMES IT’S REAL! 😂🐎🌿
I was out doing some work and on my way back when I noticed this man and his horse watching me. He said, “Come sit down and rest!” 😂
Now listen… I’m a country girl from the States. I’m not new to this—I’m TRUE to this! 🌿😂 But Sis was TIRED!
I had been working with the water, cleaning my calabash, tending to my energetic field, and doing what I do. At that point, my legs were sending me an official resignation letter! 😭😂
So, I respectfully moved myself out of the way and took that moment as a sign: REST, SIS! 🐎✨
And thank you to this beautiful horse for giving me the perfect photo moment because honestly… I felt that horse! 😂
Both of us were looking like,
“Listen, I just wanna make it home.” 😩🐎🤣
Sometimes the spiritual journey is powerful, beautiful, transformational…
…and sometimes your legs are tired and you need to SIT DOWN! 😂
That’s the truth of it. No pretending. No performance. Just real life, real work, real energy, and knowing when your body says, “Enough for today.” 🌿💧✨
Stay grounded. Listen to your body. Honor the moment. And when the horse says rest… REST! 😂🐎
