As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we’re reflecting on how maintaining and caring for our own mental health allows us to support one another at work and beyond. 💚

We’ve invited employees to slow down and appreciate the small things that bring a sense of gratitude, calm or connection. With guidance from Mental Health America’s journal prompts, we asked our team to share one thing they can hear, smell, see or feel in their surroundings that they’re grateful for — and why it matters to them.

Swipe to see their responses, then share your own in the comments. What’s one small thing in your surroundings that brings you gratitude today?

Taking time to care for our mental health matters especially in a fast-paced, high-pressure industry like public relations. This year’s Mental Health Awareness Month theme, “More Good Days, Together,” reminds us that small moments of care, support and connection can make a difference in our professional and personal lives.

PCI’s DEI Council has encouraged employees to pause and reflect on the everyday actions that help create more good days. Inspired by Mental Health America’s journal prompts, we asked our team to share one small action someone recently took that brightened their day and why it mattered to them.

Swipe to read their responses, then share your own in the comments.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the service members who gave their lives in defense of our country. Their courage, sacrifice and commitment remind us of the profound responsibility we share to remember, reflect and carry forward the freedoms they helped protect. May this day be one of remembrance, respect and renewed appreciation for those who gave everything.

The media landscape is not just evolving. It is fragmenting.

In a new blog, Katie Heinz explores what changing news habits, local news deserts and the rise of content creators mean for PR professionals. Her takeaway: strong stories still matter, but reaching the right audiences requires a more layered, multi-channel strategy.

Sharon Dewar, SVP of Conservation, traveled to New York City along with Jessica Wood from Georgia Aquarium this week for the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Anvil Awards, where PCI received an Award of Excellence in Crisis Communications for “Rescuing Belugas From a War Zone.”

As war intensified in Kharkiv, Ukraine, two beluga whales faced starvation at a besieged dolphinarium. PCI helped lead the crisis communications strategy supporting the international rescue effort led by Oceanografic Valencia, Georgia Aquarium and SeaWorld.

We are honored to see this work recognized nationally and grateful to our client partners for trusting us to help tell a powerful story of compassion, collaboration and care under extraordinary circumstances.
