Public Communications Inc. We are a national communications and marketing agency with purpose – to make a positive difference

PCI President Craig Pugh has helped set the agency’s tone for the last 11 years. Now, we’re honored to celebrate the enduring mark he leaves as he begins a well-deserved retirement.

Since joining PCI’s executive leadership team in 2015, Craig has brought a remarkable depth of experience and perspective to our agency’s work – ensuring we deliver strategic communications that drive action and make a real difference. He has been a trusted counselor to clients navigating complex issues, fundraising campaigns and moments of change, while helping guide PCI and our team through an ever-changing industry with thoughtfulness, integrity and a steady hand.

Craig, thank you for everything you have given to PCI and the organizations we serve. We wish you a retirement filled with plenty of time for new adventures and mastering the piano!

Last month, our team was proud to support Alzheimer's Association® at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference® 2026. From London to Chicago, the PCI team worked alongside the Association to elevate new findings presented at the conference and bring timely Alzheimer’s and dementia research to audiences around the world.

We’re proud to support Alzheimer’s Association in sharing the science and stories helping shape the future of Alzheimer’s and dementia research.

Data center proposals are sparking community opposition across the country and offering public officials an important reminder: Public notice is not the same as meaningful engagement.

Read Jacqueline Rachev’s latest perspective below on what the data center uproar can teach public agencies about engaging communities before positions harden and trust erodes.

Collaboration, connection and a few very delicious blueberries made for a memorable all-staff day at PCI.

Our team spent Tuesday sharing ideas, strengthening relationships and working together across the agency. We also made time for a special gathering to enjoy fresh blueberries that CEO Jill Allread, APR, Fellow PRSA brought back from a farm in Michigan.

Jacqueline Rachev, MNA, APR also brought in herbs from her garden, adding to the fresh produce that PCIers enjoyed!

It was a simple but meaningful reminder that some of the best moments happen when we come together.

At PCI, we believe strategic communication can help people turn their expertise and purpose into action and make a real difference.

Leigh Madden and Wendi Koziol, APR, recently led a media training and storytelling session at the American Academy of Neurology (AAN)’s Palatucci Advocacy Leadership Forum in Minneapolis.

The session focused on helping neurologists identify the human stories behind their advocacy projects and communicate complex medical information with greater clarity, purpose and impact. Participants strengthened their ability to translate their expertise into compelling narratives that build understanding and inspire action.

We are grateful to the American Academy of Neurology, moderator Dr. Kara Stavros, the advisors, faculty and physician advocates for the opportunity to contribute to this meaningful program. We look forward to seeing how these advocates advance their projects and create lasting impact in the communities they serve.

July is Disability Pride Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the identities, experiences and contributions of people with disabilities. Observed in July to mark the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Disability Pride Month is also a reminder of the ongoing importance of accessibility, inclusion and belonging.

At PCI, we believe strong communication starts with listening, learning and making space for different perspectives. This month and every month, we remain committed to helping build environments where people feel valued, respected and supported.

Juneteenth invites us to honor a defining moment in our nation’s history and reflect on the generations of Black leaders, families and communities who have shaped the ongoing pursuit of freedom.

As PCI is closed in observance of this special day, we commemorate Juneteenth with celebration, reflection and a continued commitment to equity.
