Hi, as we wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving, we would like to let you aware of our holiday hours. We are open regular hours today, we will be closed tomorrow to spend time with our families, and we will reopen Friday at 12:00 noon. Thank you for all of your support, we wish you a blessed Thanksgiving, and look forward to taking care of your business needs as we head in to the Christmas season! Our customers are the best!

It’s with a very heavy heart that I’m sharing the passing of our very dear friend, our Patty. The heart and soul, and sometimes the honeybadger of Chicago Lock Box.

Patty started working at the Lock Box in the spring of 2002 and was a dedicated, loving, loyal beautiful soul who was the rock of my business for over 20 years. She was with me through my most difficult and most joyous times. She loved her work at the Lock Box and spent her days there chit chatting with everyone who came in. When people ask me, “who is Patty to you? A friend? A coworker? A family member?” I don’t know how to express that she was so much more than any and all of those things. She was a big piece of my heart. We spent 17 years together day in and day out, sharing our lives and our families with each other. I will never in my life have someone else like Patty.

Patty was so loved by our customers and she felt that love from all of you through the years. Please keep Patty’s family in your thoughts as they say goodbye to this beautiful soul.

Hello, we wanted to inform everyone that as much as we have tried to maintain our prices, we have come to the point where we need to increase the prices of some of our services. It won’t be anything crazy but inflation has had an effect on our small buisness. We appreciate each and everyone of our loyal customers and we are always striving to make your experience as simple and easy as possible. We thank you for your understanding and look forward to seeing you soon!

So you did it! We hit the goal for this month. We do still have to do some catching up from the previous months. Many of them, unfortunately. And, of course, we have next month and the months and years that follow. We’re your permanent indie bookstore, not a pop-up. Please keep it going. What we really need is sustained support. We have some amazing things planned — some have had to be put on hold for a bit — but we’re moving forward with something that might alleviate some of our financial burden — something that should elate our longest supporters. Please spread the word that we’re here. Share our posts and events. Let people know that we’re here any way you can so we can increase the customer base!
