We are now half way through the year and TAX REFUND CHECKS will begin hitting accounts 6 months from now. Make sure your tax withholding is correct! If you're currently going exempt, request a new W4 from your employer to begin having taxes withheld.

SCAM ALERT‼️ if you use cash app, please be aware that there is a new offshore scam compound where callers are using VoIP and a technique called number spoofing, which lets them manipulate caller ID so their calls display the name of Cash App. They do this to trick you into trusting them so they can steal your money or login details.

Legitimate Cash App representatives will never ask for your PIN, sign-in code, or demand that you send a "test" payment AND THEY DO NOT REACH OUT OVER THE PHONE. In rare, complex situations where a support ticket requires verbal follow-up, they will only call from two specific numbers: 1 (858) 227-4267 or 1 (415) 523-2287 NOT THE MAIN NUMBER OF 1 (800) 969-1940

HAPPY TAX DAY! If you have tax liability and need more time to file your taxes, request an extension today (April 15th). This gives you until October 15 to file without penalties. Make sure you pay any tax you owe by midnight. The extension is only for filing your return.

There are 3 ways to get until October 15 to file your tax return.

ONLINE- Pay what you owe using an online payment option and check the box that you are paying as part of filing for an extension. You don’t have to file a separate extension form and you’ll receive a confirmation number of your extension for your records.

Use Free File (no income limit for extensions) to electronically request an automatic tax-filing extension.

Request an extension by mail
File Form 4868, Application for Automatic Extension of Time To File U.S. Individual Income Tax Return.

Estimate how much tax you owe for the year on the extension form: -Subtract the taxes you already paid for the filing year.

**You may get an automatic 2-month extension if you’re a U.S. citizen or resident alien and on the regular due date of your tax return, you’re living out of the country.

**You may have more time to file if you were affected by a disaster situation.

KEY DETAILS REGARDING THE APRIL 15TH DEADLINE:

Refunds: If the IRS owes you money, there is no penalty for filing after April 15, but you must file within three years to claim it or it week be forfeited

Taxes Owed: If you owe taxes, you must file or request an extension by April 15, 2026, to avoid failure-to-file penalties.

Extension: If you request an extension by April 15, you can extend your filing deadline to Oct. 15, but any tax owed is still due by April 15, 2026.
