Gratitude shouldn’t be reserved for the holidays. I love the warmth of this season, but those unexpected “thank yous” and “I appreciate yous” throughout the year often mean the most. Just remember to include the why behind your appreciation.

✨ “I really appreciate how you always support me, even when you’re stretched thin.”

✨ “I love how your positive attitude keeps our team going during challenging times.”

✨ “Thank you for bringing my crazy idea to life — you’re truly great at what you do.”

Be generous with gratitude. Acknowledge strengths. And remember: for many people, words of encouragement and recognition are their love language.

🌿 New Look, Same Purpose 🌿

I am so excited to share my new logo and tagline for Cheryl Wilson Marketing: Helping associations grow.

This brand refresh feels especially meaningful to me because it reflects some of my greatest passions:

Associations — I’ve been part of this world since I was 8 years old, stuffing meeting bags with other kids on summer break for the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA). Decades later, I still believe deeply in the power of associations to connect people, advance professions, and make a lasting impact.

Growth — I love plants, nature, and watching things thrive. It’s the same feeling I get helping my association clients flourish through clear strategy, supported ex*****on and authentic engagement.

Helping others — At the heart of everything I do is a desire to help people succeed, whether that’s a member finding value, a volunteer feeling seen, or a staff team hitting their stride.

Here’s to fresh growth, deeper roots, and continued collaboration with the incredible associations I’m lucky to serve.

Today, I'm celebrating my 10th year being self-employed! 3,650 days reporting to myself means I'm now the most-tenured boss of me.

What's my secret? I enjoy the variety in my work (from clients served to my daily tasks), I'm open to new experiences and I work hard.

To the 35+ associations who've been a part of this journey, thank you. I's not lost on me how lucky I've been to fall into collaborations with people who make me feel like a valued member of their team.

If you need me, I'll be soaking in this milestone. 😁

Associations are adapting in different ways to the changing contours of workplace management, but all are confronting the same truth: We’ll never work like it’s 2019 again. After a pandemic shakeup, leaders are leveraging new management approaches to support staff and deliver on the mission.

"If it drains you, it's not meant for you." Does this quote speak to anyone else? This week I celebrate the 8th year owning and operating my consulting business. While I'm not immune to challenges and hard days, I am fulfilled at the work I'm doing for my clients and the relationships that I'm building along the way.

The pandemic has forced us to get creative with where we eat, learn and connect. Will a shift to outdoor events be in our future?
