They usually arenât lacking experience.
If anything, they have too much of it.
Theyâve worked in different industries. Picked up different skills. Tried different things. Built businesses. Taken on leadership roles. Started over.
So when itâs time to define their brand, they try to fit everything into one sentence.
Every skill, every title, every achievement.
And suddenly, the person reading it has no idea what theyâre actually known for.
What Iâve noticed is that the struggle often isnât, âI donât know what I can do.â
Itâs:
âI donât know which part of everything Iâve done should lead.â
Thatâs a very different problem.
Because positioning isnât about erasing your experiences.
Itâs about finding the thread that makes them make sense together.
And once you find that thread, communicating your value becomes a lot easier.
You donât need to become less. You need to become clearer.
