20 years ago I took a 40 hour mediation training at the Center for Conflict Resolution. The people, the ideas and the mediating kept me coming back. Last week CCR honored me for my 20 years of service and named me Trainer of the Year. To receive these acknowledgments from people and an organization whom I hold in such high esteem was quite special.

To make the week even sweeter, I spent an evening with the Teen leadership at the Alive Center Naperville working on Conflict Resolution.

Hello, Everyone! Since it has been awhile, I thought I'd provide a little update as to what is happening in the G & O Mediation world. We've had a busy Spring and Summer mediating and training.

We have mediated a whole host of Landlord/Tenant disputes as part of the Kane County Eviction Mediation Program, Family cases, business to business disputes and neighbor disputes. Every case is its own and, as such, eye opening and meaningful.

I've also had the opportunity to provide Conflict Resolution and Mediation Training for a number of organizations recently. I have had the good fortune to continue providing Conflict in the Workplace Training with the Cook County Public Defenders' Office, Wheaton College, Ohio Tradesmen and the College of DuPage Leadership Program. I have coached and trained existing and aspiring mediators for the Center for Conflict Resolution and Northwestern University.

Lastly, we have a new, improved and revamped website for all of your G & O news and mediation and training needs.

I've been a trainer for this program for a number of years and always leave better than I entered. Had a great morning presenting on Conflict Resolution in the Workplace for the Public Service Institute at College of DuPage. It has been some time since we’ve done this sort of work in person and fantastic to work with an engaged group of current and future leaders in an array of municipal functions across DuPage County.

Excited to be a part of this public service training program again. I'll be presenting on Conflict Resolution on April 15th. There is a different program each week this April and training slots are still available.

The goal of the Public Service Institute (PSI) is to provide professional development and comprehensive training for the ongoing success of local government agencies and their employees.
