I wrote this blog several years ago for Breast Cancer Awareness month as I reflected on what I learned from my breast cancer journey.

If you want to see what community and sharing looks like, look no further than , an organization founded and nurtured by Erich Kurschat of Harmony Insights. Erich has built a group that is always open to sharing, supporting, learning, and growing.

Last night was its 5-year birthday party and over 125 professionals gathered online to hear Erich and the other guest speakers, and connect with new and old friends.

This! We are all more than our accomplishments. We are all more than our titles.

Let’s use this as a teaching/learning moment for children, our peers, and most importantly ourselves.

It’s okay to not be perfect. It’s okay to take care of yourself. Especially if you are a woman, who feels she needs to do it all, and do it all perfectly, you don’t.

My car's engine overheated a few weeks ago as I was driving home. Luckily I was right at an exit and was able to safely coast onto the side. After a few minutes I restarted the car and pulled it into a gas station a few yards away.

As I waited for the tow, it got me thinking about reacting in a crisis, big or small:

⭐️ Let people know there is a problem = I put on my hazards

⭐️ Don't do it alone, call your trusted advisors = I called AAA

⭐️ Make sure you and everyone else is safe = I parked in a well lit area of the gas station

⭐️ Don't be afraid to ask for what you need = AAA said it was a 2 hour wait; I pushed back and they "expedited it" to get someone there in 1 hour

⭐️ Keep those who need to know up to date = I kept in touch with some friends until I got home

Above all, when you can, maintain a sense of humor.
