Well, mercy. I know that so many of us are thinking it has been a wild year already and that it would be great if we could do a reset on January. In the absence of having the power to alter the calendar, I am trying to remind myself to breathe through it all and to ask the needful questions about how to be present in this time. In case that’s true for you as well, or for someone you know, this blessing is for you.

BLESSING OF BREATHING

That the first breath
will come without fear.

That the second breath
will come without pain.

The third breath:
that it will come without despair.

And the fourth,
without anxiety.

That the fifth breath
will come with no bitterness.

That the sixth breath
will come for joy.

Breath seven:
that it will come for love.

May the eighth breath
come for freedom.

And the ninth,
for delight.

When the tenth breath comes,
may it be for us
to breathe together,
and the next,
and the next,

until our breathing
is as one,
until our breathing
is no more.

VIBE OF THE DAY

CHOOSE KINDNESS

“My kindness attracts the presence of love.”

Kindness is about giving without needing to receive. It’s about having consideration alongside the willingness to be present and help. Being kind is one of the highest vibrations, for when we give without needing to receive in return, we tune in to the abundant flow of the Universe and will be helped in some other way.

Kindness is good for the heart both physically and spiritually. On a physical level, being kind can lower blood pressure, strengthen arteries, and bring mental clarity. On a spiritual level, when you step into this space of selflessness, you allow yourself to be sustained by a higher power that will always lead you toward your highest and greatest good.

Being kind to yourself is about removing any conditions for contentment. It’s about respecting and loving yourself no matter what situation you are facing. It’s about taking the pressure off your own shoulders and just allowing yourself to be how you need to be.

Today the Universe is encouraging you to choose kindness in all areas of your life. Be kind to others. Be kind to yourself.

Grief does not only apply to the passing of a loved one. Grieving the loss of dreams is also worthy of sorrow. Yet after a time of mourning, you can choose to “live twice as hard” and your soul will be found.

YOU’RE THE GHOST

There’s a part of the grieving process,
where your soul kind of leaves your body too.
As though it’s off searching for the one you lost,
somewhere in the ether.

You walk around,
doing all the right things,
putting one foot in front of the other,
living,
but it’s really as though you’re the ghost.

Perhaps you are.
Perhaps your soul searches,
until you find the one you miss,
and they tell you to go back and live.

So, when that numbness passes brave one,
maybe it’s time to do what you are told,
go back and live,
twice as hard.

You don’t belong there in the ether,
nor do you need to search for the one you lost,
they find you.
And when they do, you’ll feel it.
