🤔 Networking or Net Worth?

Today, while reviewing this month's DAC's Bank Breezy Business Funding Platform promotion with ChatGPT, I found myself thinking about something completely different.

At the same time, I came across a meme asking whether networking is truly about building genuine connections or simply exchanging business cards.

That got me thinking...

As we work to provide relevant and helpful solutions for small business owners, perhaps the conversation isn't really about Networking versus Net Worth at all.

Maybe it's this:

➡️ Networking creates Trust.

➡️ Trust creates Opportunities.

➡️ Opportunities create Value.

➡️ Value creates Net Worth.

In other words...

Your network becomes net worthy when it helps people solve real problems.

Whether you're a restaurant owner, contractor, retailer, entrepreneur, or local service provider, the strongest businesses I've encountered are often built on relationships first and transactions second.

That's very much aligned with my current philosophy:

Today I was preparing to share information about a homebuyer assistance program.

Before posting, I decided to do one more thing.

I visited the source.
I called the number.
I listened to the prompts.

What I discovered changed the context.

The program doesn't become active until June 8th.

At that moment, I had a choice:

Post it anyway.

Or pause and verify.

I chose to pause.

Not because of hesitation.

Because of discernment.

As a real estate professional, I believe trust is built one decision at a time.

Sometimes the most important thing we can do isn't move faster.

It's gather one more piece of information.

Observe → Learn → Recalibrate → Proceed.

The work wasn't wasted.
The graphic wasn't wasted.
It simply wasn't time to deploy it yet.

My goal isn't to be first.

My goal is to be accurate, helpful, and trustworthy.

Long-term credibility is built when people know you've taken the time to verify information before sharing it.
