Remember your body is working hard post cupping at flushing the lymph, removing toxins, and nourishing your organs and muscles with sweet sweet circulation 🥰

Brothy, nutrient dense foods are my favorites especially during the winter season. Aim for things that are easy to digest but also filled with nutrients and hydration. Stay away from fried foods for at least 24 hours after your session.

Reminder that protective clothing is especially important in the winter and cold months!

I can't even begin to describe how much I panic internally when I see folks wearing summer clothes during the winter. 🥶

In TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) and TMM (Traditional Mexican medicine) it is soooo important to protect the body from cold wind exposure especially after a cupping session. That is because cupping opens up your pores and increases internal temperature. To be exposed to cold wind afterwards essentially undoes the medicine we worked to do. Being exposed to cold wind can bring back muscle stiffness and pain which is the last thing we want!!

Sharing this as a reminder to please prepare for your session to be able to receive the best experience. ☺️

Mujeres: This service is so dear to me. I'm so excited and now that we are deep in winter it seems like the most fitting time to share because it is the most important season to care for our womb ☺️

In Mesoamerican medicine nature and the elements are intricately related to our health especially menstrual health. In the cold months of the year we can be exposed to what we call 'cold wind'; when cold wind enters our body it becomes a pathogen that can cause unwelcome symptoms especially during menstruation. (This is very similar to the 5 element theory which is the foundation of traditional Chinese medicine as well).

In both Chinese and Mesoamerican medicine it is believed that fire cupping helps warm up the womb to reduce symptoms like cramping, back pain, clotting, & body aches that usually come with menstruation as a symptom of a 'cold womb'.

I recommend keeping a journal where you document your symptoms before you get cupping done and then also after so you can see the progress as your treatment continues. A full 'treatment' is considered to be 8 sessions 1 month apart from each other. The best time to book it is 1 WEEK BEFORE YOUR PERIOD.
