Humans are still part of the hiring process!!!
In 2025, 69% of organizations used AI in their hiring processes. The majority of the AI use has been with resume screening, creating interview questions, and candidate assessments. But the hiring process is more than these items.
For example, several AI job seeking tools claim
that they can find you a new job in a week or two. But is this really true? Probably not because the unemployment rate has increased, and not decreased. And if you are selected for an interview, is it really for a job that meets your wholistic needs? These AI programs don’t factor in the industry, type, size, and culture of an organization that meet your unique needs.
Another major factor in the hiring process that these AI processes do not prepare you for is the interview! Some organizations will us AI for the first phase of their interview process. But if you are not prepared to answer any questions for the role, you will never make it to the next round with actual people.
One last factor is networking. These AI tools do not identify people in your network that can help you secure these jobs. They also don’t give you recommendations on how to grow your network.
