What a great time to share research, catch up with friends, learn new things, and enjoy the beach. I was delighted to present a professional development workshop managing common method variance with Abdulah Bajaba and Elizabeth Ragland.

Steve and I are celebrating 15 years of marriage today! We’ll go out tomorrow evening, but today was a tennis date, which is fitting since we met on a tennis court. Here’s to 15 fantastic years and many more to come!

Huge disappointment last week to have a research paper rejected from a top journal after a major revision. ☹️ The paper represented more than a year’s worth of work, but more importantly, it’s a setback for two of my coauthors who are on tenure and promotion tracks. Academic life is full of long feedback loops, rejections, and efforts that don’t always pay off. And even though I’ve known that for more than 25 years, it still stings to get a rejection. So, I took Wednesday afternoon off to wallow in the disappointment (and treat myself to my favorite Indian buffet and some retail therapy) and we’ll submit to another journal next week. 🤞

Celebrating #49 back in Iowa with my family. So sweet to share a birthday with my youngest nephew.

You can take the girl out of Iowa, but she’ll still find locally grown sweet corn in Louisiana. 🌽
I’ll process six dozen ears for the freezer today so we can enjoy it all winter. Love this time of year!

Fun weekend with the Mel Purcell adult tennis camp at Squire Creek Country Club. Mel reached #17 in the world as a pro, and had wins over Connors and McEnroe. We are so fortunate to have him working with us here (thank you !). Highlight of my weekend was playing singles points against Mel.
