When senior firefighters retire, the building knowledge they carry can retire with them. West Jordan's answer: stop treating pre-planning as a separate project and start capturing the knowledge during the work they were already doing.

The department uses LIV to document buildings during routine business inspections — alarm panels, riser rooms, exits, standpipes, even property-specific hazards — and pushes the completed plans into VersaTerm so every responder, including mutual aid, has them on arrival.

We had a great time in Greensboro for the NCFMA Fire Marshal Institute this week during vendor night and the NCFMA annual banquet!

It's the last day at National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 2026 Conference and Expo in Las Vegas. We've spent the week talking with fire chiefs, fire marshals, and inspection companies about how LIV can help improve fire prevention outcomes — and there's still time to have that conversation. We're at booth 1064 until 2pm.

And in 100-degree Las Vegas heat, our RC fire prevention patrol vehicle has been pulling double duty — fully loaded with water to keep everyone hydrated on the expo floor.
