CONTROLLED BURN REMINDER

Planning to burn brush, tree limbs, or other permitted materials? Before you light that fire, please call and obtain a burn permit. Call dispatch at (620) 855-3916

A few important reminders:
Obtain your burn permit before starting your controlled burn.
Check weather conditions, especially wind speed and direction.
Keep a water source and firefighting tools nearby.
Never leave a controlled burn unattended.
Make sure your fire is completely extinguished before leaving the area.

A little preparation goes a long way in preventing an emergency! Conditions can change quickly, and an unattended or escaped fire can put homes, property, and lives at risk.

Attention Cimarron Residence.

The City of Cimarron would like to inform residents that Public Works crews will be replacing a water main valve near North Fourth Street this morning.

During this work, water service to the area north of Hillcrest Ave may be temporarily interrupted.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as our crews complete these necessary repairs. Will apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.

Traffic Restriction on Cedar Ridge.

We are excited progress can be seen on the fire station project. However, it will come at a cost this afternoon. Traffic flow on Cedar Ridge is going to be restricted near Main street as trucks bring materials for the concrete foundation. Expected to last through afternoon.

The weather just saw a state trooper and will be taking a hard turn to cooler temperatures. Fall is here.

Much colder air will arrive Thursday night and Friday morning, with air temperatures falling into the 30s. North winds will remain elevated to strong Friday morning, producing wind chills in the 20s. A widespread freeze is expected Saturday morning, with air temperatures in the 20s, and a freeze warning will be required.

Charge large items like e-bikes, scooters, and power tools
outside when possible. Do not block exits when charging. These
batteries store more energy, and fires can grow quickly if they

longer than needed can increase heat and stress on the battery. For

Stop using your device right away if the battery smells strange, is
warm to the touch, makes popping noises, changes in shape or
color, or if you see smoke. If it is safe, move the device away
from anything that can catch fire. A damaged battery can
