I was on a service call recently for a fellow Army veteran who now works with the VA. He called because his Whirlpool dishwasher had stopped heating — dishes weren’t getting clean, and frustration was setting in.

After diagnosing the issue, I found a failed heating element. Got that replaced and running properly. đź’Ş

But I didn’t stop there…

I noticed the dishwasher wasn’t installed correctly. He told me he installed it himself and honestly said, “I didn’t really know what I was doing.”

I smiled and said, “I got you.”

Ran out, grabbed the proper bracket and mounting materials, came back, and secured everything the right way — solid, safe, and better than it was before.

That’s the difference.

It’s not just about fixing what’s broken — it’s about taking care of people.

He was beyond appreciative, and moments like that are exactly why I do what I do.

This is my promotion picture to Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army (2020). This is the proudest moment of my career, because it culminated my 23 years of service and included my mom, dad, wife, children, and my mentor COL Edwards. That's what it's all about.

🔥 Real Job. Real Problem. Real Solution. 🔧

Customer called us about their Samsung dryer that suddenly stopped working.

At first glance?
It looked like a completely dead unit.

But here’s what we found 👇

The rubber seal had peeled off, wrapped itself around the drum, and locked everything in place.
That caused the motor to overheat and burn out trying to turn a stuck drum.

💥 Most companies would’ve just said: “You need a new dryer.”

But that’s not how we do things.

Not every service call is just about an appliance.
Recently, I helped a customer who hadn’t used her dishwasher in months. It had developed a really bad smell, and because of ongoing medical issues, she kept putting off calling anyone. She told me she was embarrassed about the odor and was already dreading the idea of having to replace the dishwasher altogether.
When I arrived, before even walking inside, she asked if I could grab her mail from the mailbox—getting there is difficult for her. Of course, I was happy to help.
After diagnosing the issue, I found the real problem: a clogged drain line. I pulled it out and cleaned it, but once I looked closer, I noticed the plastic tub was caked with a brown buildup. I couldn’t imagine that circulating around dishes meant for her food.
So I took the dishwasher apart and thoroughly sanitized it. Not because it was required—but because it was the right thing to do.
Given her situation, I waived the labor and only charged the service call fee.
I feel truly blessed to have a skill that allows me to make a real impact, treat people with dignity, and serve my community with respect and care. This is bigger than appliances—it’s about people.
