I've always needed adventure.

And honestly... I still do.

I love exploring new places.

New trails.

New cities.

New experiences.

For years, I thought what I needed was another vacation.

And don't get me wrong, I still love a good vacation.

But eventually I realized I wasn't always looking for a destination.

I was looking for a feeling.

The feeling of being alive.

The feeling of freedom.

The feeling that comes when your mind finally slows down and you can breathe again.

That's why nature became such a big part of my life.

It gave me adventure.

It gave me movement.

It gave me perspective.

It gave me a healthy outlet when life felt heavy.

Sometimes the answer isn't running away from your life.

Sometimes it's simply finding a healthier way to live it.

You were never meant to do it all on your own.

JUST WALK IT OFF.
Not because the problem isn't real.
Not because you're ignoring it.
Not because you're pretending everything is fine.
Walk it off because sometimes the best solutions don't show up while you're staring at your computer, replaying the problem for the hundredth time.
Sometimes they show up on a trail.
Between breaths.
Between steps.
Away from the noise.
I've solved more problems walking through the woods than I ever solved sitting at my desk worrying about them.
The pressure doesn't always disappear.
But the way you think about it changes.
The emotions settle.
The answers become clearer.
The next step becomes obvious.
So if you're feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, stuck, or carrying more than you should...
Maybe it's time to stop overthinking it for a minute and...
Just walk it off.

Walking alone in the woods always made me nervous.

I did it anyway because I desperately needed the hike.

I needed the quiet.

I needed the movement.

I needed the chance to clear my head.

But every snap of a branch made me wonder who was out there.

Every time I rounded a corner, I wondered if someone was going to pop out of nowhere.

Nature calmed me down...

but hiking alone made me a nervous wreck.

The funny thing is, I kept going anyway.

Because the need for the reset was stronger than the fear.

Looking back, I think that's part of the reason I love walk-and-talk coaching so much.

You get all the benefits of being outside.

The fresh air.

The movement.

The space to think.

The chance to step away from the noise.

But you're not alone.

You're walking with someone who listens.

Someone who understands pressure.

Someone who understands what it feels like to carry too much for too long.

Someone who gives you the space to talk through what's weighing on you.

For years I thought I needed another vacation.

What I really needed was a healthy outlet.

A place to think.

A place to breathe.

A place to pray.

A place to walk it off.

I was always looking for another vacation.

Always desperately seeking a reset.

Always thinking, "If I can just get away for a few days, I'll feel better."

And don't get me wrong...

I love vacations. I still do.

But eventually I realized the problem wasn't that I needed another vacation.

The problem was that I was waiting until I was completely overwhelmed, mentally exhausted, and running on empty before I gave myself permission to slow down.

I wasn't looking for a vacation.

I was looking for relief.

What I really needed was a healthy outlet.

A place to think.

A place to breathe.

A place to pray.

A place to work through the pressure before it built up to the point where I felt like I was going to snap.

That's what walking became for me.

Not a vacation.

Not an escape.

A reset I could access anytime I needed it.

A way to clear my head, calm my mind, and come back as a better wife, mother, grandmother, business owner, and leader.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do isn't disappear for a week.

Sometimes it's taking one hour to clear your head before the pressure takes over.

Sometimes one hour can change everything.
