Mr. Nice Guy Tip of the Week:
Don't be the problem when you're looking to find the solution.
When dealing with difficult customers, it's important to put yourself in their shoes versus being defensive about your business. They could careless about someone calling off and you being short staffed. They're there to get what they paid for and expect a great experience. There's methods to engage, get your point across, and deliver a great customer experience. It takes patience, and a lot of understanding before a word is spoken to your customer. This is the point where you can create a repeat customer, or become the topic of the wrong type of conversations.
