- Work in the western suburbs of Illinois.
- Must be able to pass random drug background checks.
- Willingness to travel is a plus.
- Starting Wage: $21 - $23/hr.

OPERATIONS ASSISTANT
JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:
Provides personal assistance and office support to the President as well as support to the COO, managers, and other professionals.

Essential Job Functions:
• Strategically create project plans, creating a timeline and setting benchmarks.
• Prepare and analyze data and produce progress reports
• Monitor all moving parts of projects keeping them synchronized and support BTS with moving projects forward.
• Attend meetings/calls, take detailed notes, and proactively execute action items.
• Advise President on approaching milestones, project schedule and deadline.
• Maintain President’s calendar ensuring his overall day-to-day activities are appropriately managed and on schedule.
• Proactively streamline and organize office processes, serving as liaison across multiple teams, vendors, and clients.
• Prepare, manage, and distribute material and/or information within a remote environment.
• Provide follow-up, action-item reminders of meetings, important dates to staff and management.
• Foster positive and productive virtual client relationship, providing top-notch consistent client support across varying levels of management when instructed by President.
• Create and/or manage professional client presentations, proposals, dashboards, metrics and other company documentation.
• Type, edit and proof read documents, emails, and correspondence using platforms such as Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
• Arrange travel and prepare detailed itineraries for flights, lodging, rental cars, and conference/event registrations.
• Assist with new hire logistics, orientation, and document preparations.
• Research and assist with navigating the expanded virtual business community
• Adhoc projects and office duties as required.
Education/Certifications:
• High School Diploma, associate degree in business administration and/or equivalent experience.
• Must have a valid driver's license and motor vehicle insurance.
• Ability to get certified in First Aid, CPR and AED.
Experience/Minimum Requirements:
• Five (5) to Seven (7) years in an office environment with project coordination and/or administration experience.
• Experience working in construction environment preferable but not mandatory.
• Computer skills using Microsoft Office 365/ Outlook, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and the ability to learn project specific software
• Minimum intermediate level with Microsoft Office Suite of products.
• Excellent organizational/administrative skills
o Knowledge/understanding of basic Accounting/Financial principles
o Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Organizational Relationship:
• Reports to: President
• Working Conditions: Works in a virtual office setting. May be expected to operate in the field at various times
• Travel: Minimal travel as required.

About Us
Business Technical Services, LLC helps to maintain America's energy infrastructure in the natural gas and renewable market. We work in multiple states and our clients vary but are often large investor-owned Utilities. This is a high demand area with lots of opportunity for growth and upward mobility. We provide some paid training.

BTS is involved in the following services, coatings, 3rd party inspections, broadband, various cathodic protection related surveys and services such as design and installation of ground beds and rectifiers, geographic information systems and smart communities.

This is a minimum 5-year project. The first 30 to 45 days may require weekly travel to Niles, IL before working in the KY area.

Min. Qualifications
- High school or equivalent education
- 3-5 years of electrical, construction, survey, geographic information systems, or other scientific or technical background.
- Must have own vehicle and driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Work in various elements outside.
- Good math, science and computer skills required.
- Ability and willingness to travel some overnight.
- Must be able to pass a random drug background check.

- Apply a variety of industrial coatings to gas pipelines
- Utilize instruments to verify and measure different aspects of the pipe such as measure painting parameters to ensure compliance.
- Responsible for applying the industrial coating in settings to include, but not limited to: High roofs, tight spaces, extreme hot and cold weather, over water, walking extremely long distances, forestry, private and public property, ride-away etc.
- Assist with rigging large objects for the purpose of moving them in the process of applying coating material
- Responsible for reporting any malfunctions or incidents outside the normal scope of outlined work
- Complete 9+ Operational Qualification trainings

Desirable Qualifications
- Associates degree in electrical, civil, mechanical, or other technical area
- GIS experience
- Natural gas pipeline experience
- Supervisory experience

Compensation
- $21 -27/hr.
