Task
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment and observe good safety habits
• Apply a variety of industrial coatings to gas pipelines
• Utilize instruments to measure painting parameters to ensure compliance
• Responsible for applying the industrial coating in settings to include, but not limited to: High roofs, tight spaces, extreme hot and cold weather, over water, etc.
• Assist with rigging large objects for the purpose of moving them in the process of applying coating material
• Responsible for reporting any malfunctions or incidents outside the normal scope of outlined work
• Complete 6 Operational Qualification trainings
Min. Qualifications
- High school or equivalent education
- 3-5 years of construction, survey, painting or blasting experience.
- Must have own vehicle and driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Work in various elements outside.
- Good math, science and computer skills required.
- Work in the western suburbs of Illinois.
- Must be able to pass random drug background checks.
- Willingness to travel is a plus.
- Wage: $21 - $23/hr.

We work in multiple states and our clients vary but are often large investor-owned Utilities. This is a high demand area with lots of opportunity for growth and upward mobility. We provide some paid training.
BTS is involved in the following services, coatings, 3rd party inspections, broadband, various cathodic protection related surveys and services such as design and installation of ground beds and rectifiers, geographic information systems and smart communities.
This is a minimum 5-year project. The first 30 to 45 days may require weekly travel to Niles, IL before working in the KY area.
Min. Qualifications
- High school or equivalent education
- 3-5 years of electrical, construction, survey, geographic information systems, or other scientific or technical background.
- Must have own vehicle and driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Work in various elements outside.
- Good math, science and computer skills required.
- Ability and willingness to travel some overnight.
- Must be able to pass a random drug background check.

- Utilize instruments to verify and measure different aspects of the pipe such as measure painting parameters to ensure compliance.
- Responsible for applying the industrial coating in settings to include, but not limited to: High roofs, tight spaces, extreme hot and cold weather, over water, walking extremely long distances, forestry, private and public property, ride-away etc.
- Assist with rigging large objects for the purpose of moving them in the process of applying coating material
- Responsible for reporting any malfunctions or incidents outside the normal scope of outlined work
- Complete 9+ Operational Qualification trainings
Desirable Qualifications
- Associates degree in electrical, civil, mechanical, or other technical area
- GIS experience
- Natural gas pipeline experience
- Supervisory experience
Compensation
- $21 -27/hr.
