February 13, 2005: On this date in Reds history, shortstop Barry Larkin announced his retirement. Larkin spent his entire 19-season career in a Reds uniform. A 12-time All-Star, 9-time Silver Slugger Award winner, 3-time Gold Glove Award winner and the National League’s Most Valuable Player in 1995, Larkin was inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame in 2008 and the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2012.
